Sustainable Table: Cultivating Food Solutions at the Community Level

Food affects our health, local and global economies and the environment. While Canadians have an increasing interest in healthy eating, there is much to be done to foster sustainable agriculture and procurement practices, build local food economies, and decrease rampant food insecurity.

In celebration of World Food Day, please join WISE-Toronto on Tuesday, October 16th for

Sustainable Table: Cultivating Food Solutions at the Community Level, a panel discussion on the barriers to fostering sustainable food systems, and innovations that are helping to address this need. This event will be held at Maizal Quesadilla Café—a restaurant dedicated to community, social enterprise, and sustainability.

Panel includes:

Katie German, Director of Programs, FoodShare Toronto

Gabriela Ituarte, Co-Founder, Maizal Quesadilla Café

Tania Little, Chief Development and Partnerships Officer, Food Banks Canada

Lori Stahlbrand, Health Policy Specialist/Lead, Toronto Food Strategy, City of Toronto

Dinner will be provided.
