Local Food, Global Labour

On October 2, two events aim to create a conversation between food activists and labour activists about how to merge the goals of sustainable food and just labour, in particular migrant labour justice (lunch provided).

Lunch and Learn session (12 – 2 PM)
Join representatives of Justice for Migrant Workers and the Agricultural Workers Alliance, the Toronto Food Policy Council, and Food Secure Canada. Special guests will be two Peruvian migrant workers who survived the tragic accident that killed ten workers in February of this year.

Building Alliances for Sustainable Food and Just Labour workshop (2:30 – 5 PM) Continue the dialogue between food activists and labour activists, exchange information about current work and campaigns, and explore common ground and ways to be mutually supportive.
