Free Micro-Farming Workshops

Flemo Farm is a new urban farm set to break ground spring 2020! The farm will be hosting a Community Farmer Program where new and experienced urban farmers will have the opportunity to grow food on a larger scale with the goal of achieving some profit.

To support the Community Farmer Program, Flemingdon Health Centre and FoodShare Toronto are hosting micro-farm planning workshops each Thursday evening in February! The workshops are designed for people who live in or near Flemingdon Park and/or for those who are interested in pursuing micro-farming as a means to earn supplemental income. Throughout the workshops, emphasis will be placed on helping each applicant find an acceptable balance between labour, production, marketing, and finances. Everyone interested in growing for profit on a micro-scale is welcome to attend. Participants will learn from urban farmers sharing their experiences and knowledge.

There is no cost to attend the workshops. Light refreshments, childminding and TTC tokens are available. If you require childminding, let us know how many children and their ages.

The first workshop will be held Thursday, February 6th at 6pm at the Flemingdon Health Centre, 10 Gateway Blvd. To RSVP please email  or for more information visit the event Facebook page
