2014 Public Health Champion Award Nominations

Nominations for the 2014 Public Health Champion Awards are now open. This is a great opportunity to recognize your favourite food organization or local food hero who has gone above and beyond to improve the health of Toronto residents.

The award was established in 2008 by Toronto’s Board of Health, to recognize individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting and promoting the health of Toronto’s residents.

Nominations will be evaluated by a committee of the Board of Health based on demonstrated achievement in one or more of four areas:

  • Providing leadership in efforts to reduce health inequalities
  • Fostering collaboration to improve the health of the population
  • Building community capacity through innovative health promotion strategies
  • Achieving impact by acting as a catalyst for change.

Nominations are open until April 30, 2014.  More information including the online submission process, the nomination form, and recipients of previous awards are available on the awards web page at: http://www.toronto.ca/PublicHealthChampionAwards
