Food Banks Panel Event: April 6

Food Banks: What do they do now?  What can they do in the near future? What can’t they do? What can we do?

On April 6th join TFPC members at a panel event to discuss the future of food banks in the U.S. and Canada. Panelists include: Ryan  Noble (North York Harvest Food Bank), Valerie Tarasuk (UofT), Merryn Maynard (Meal Exchange), Cecilia Rocha (Ryerson), and Andy Fisher (author of new book from MIT Press: Big Hunger: The Unholy Alliance between Corporate America and Anti-Hunger Groups). The discussion will be chaired by Toronto City Councillor Joe Mihevc, Chair of the Board of Health. Fiona Yeudall from Ryerson University will be giving opening remarks and closing remarks will be given by the TYFPC’s Melana Roberts.

Join as a panel of outstanding experts and activists talk though the complex pros, cons, and to-dos of food banks. All points of view welcomed and respected.
