Street Food Update

food trucksThe City of Toronto Municipal Licensing and Standards Division is undertaking a review of the City’s street food vending by-laws. The goal is to create a harmonized, city-wide street food vending by-law that encourages a vibrant street food experience for the public. As part of this review, it has been proposed that the Refreshment Vehicle Assistant Licence fee is eliminated. This will go to City Council for approval on November 13. Lauren Baker sits on a street food working group convened by MLS and is contributing to the development of the new policy. At the November 13 TFPC meeting, staff from MLS will hold a consultation with the TFPC and solicit input on the policy development.
