Composting in Toronto: Closing the Urban Food Waste Loop

Abstract:

This paper will argue that decentralized, community-managed composting should be supported by provincial and municipal governments, as it is a viable accessory to centralized programs, and can be an effective method for reducing organic waste in landfills that provides a valuable connection to food production.
