Lori Stahlbrand joins the TFPC & Toronto Food Strategy team

Lori Stahlbrand joins the Food Strategy Team at the City of Toronto, responsible for the Toronto Food Policy Council, one of the leading food policy councils in the world. Prior to joining the City of Toronto, Lori was the coordinator of the Global Food Equity Initiative and a lecturer in food studies at New College, University of Toronto. She holds a PhD in Geography from Wilfrid Laurier University. Her research focuses on the role of creative public procurement in promoting food security, and just and sustainable food systems in Canada and the UK. As the founder and former president of the non-profit Local Food Plus, Lori promoted local and sustainable food procurement as a tool for social and economic development. Prior to engaging with food issues, Lori was a nationally-recognized journalist and broadcaster with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
