Cities call on UN for greater food policy recognition

CITIES CALL ON U.N. FOR GREATER FOOD POLICY RECOGNITION

159 cities, all signatories to the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact , have presented an appeal to the United Nations to recognize the role that cities play in shaping sustainable food systems.

Food can help cities address many issues including urban hunger, social isolation, improved health, environmental protection, newcomer settlement, and job creation.
